Sometimes you get to an assignment and realize you’re not going to have as much time with the subject as you originally thought. On this particular assignment, which was to get a portrait and action shots of the Chicago Tribune’s high school athlete of the month, I found out practice on this day was 15 minutes and not an hour and half. Most of the practice was spent doing free throws, so I decided to focus on getting a clean picture of the player shooting as opposed to the typical angle from under the goal. Here’s what I came up with.
