I walked Michigan Avenue with fellow Chicago Tribune photographer Scott Strazzante yesterday and while he shot his own street photography, I was inspired to break out my iPhone and capture a few images. I find that shooting with the iPhone allows freedom that I don’t have with a larger SLR. The lag time can be a few seconds, so I make sure to take the shot a few moments before someone walks into the frame. The Hipstamatic App on the iPhone also does great things with color, so maybe I’ll walk downtown Chicago at sunset more often.
